Honestly how bad can the maintenance be? It is an Italian supercar for 15,000 dollars. A Maserati. I say nice price all day long. It has a 4.2 liter DOHC V8 engine probably designed by Ferrari. How can you not love this car? Here is an idea Doug by one of these and something else and review both.

There's a reason why they are this cheap. I for one would not put my hard earned money in one.

If only you didn't have to throw hard earned money towards maintaining the damn thing

I should have mentioned the $9000 was the cost per mile.

This is straight-up scary ... you would need 5-7 grand a year to keep it on the road. Have you ever seen one in the wild? I see a couple big Maseratis a month here in NYC, but never these. There's a reason there are so few of them.

Since these are so cheap, why not swap the engine or more importantly the transmission?

I know this may sounds harsh, I feel like these are becoming poser traps. People just buying them for the badge then being forced into bankruptcy due to them being made of glass.

They aren't that great of a car and to me not worth the commitment. Have we all forgot about the biturbo?

I mean that could be said about every sports car or great car for that matter. Look at a Ferrari ass holes own those too. You can't fault a car because of its buyers. And I am sure there is something special about a Maserati. Even if it is a bad one.

No that can't be said. Some cars deserve their prices and commitments. I for one don't think the Maserati coupe does.

I've only rode in one and have been around the owner for years. They're pretty bad at everything but being a Maserati.

Keep the engine, swap the trans. The transmission is what costs so much to maintain, for the most part. But you buy it for the looks and the badge.

Imagine - the only place to get parts is the dealer. Here, the Maserati dealer is on Park Avenue. How do you think they pay the rent?

Ad says 6 speed manual.

Pictures shows paddles.

Son of a bitch.

But seriously CP. Those paddle trannies are a nightmare and will cost you a LOT of money to maintain. The regular autos are fine but not these.

I guess you have had experience not me so you would know more. It's sad to see a company once so great ride only on past glory.

I guess find a manual tranny then instead of stupid paddle shifters. Maybe that solves the issue

Yes, never been there. Audi used to have a Park Ave. store, but I think it's gone now. Mercedes, of course, still does.

Step 1: Replace engine/transmission with small block Chevy and some durable transmission.
Step 2: Hoon.
